Allison 4500 RDS problem

    Hey guys. We have a 2013 kw with a 4500 series RDS tranny. The truck shifts perfectly till the wrench light comes on. It says filter clogged and needs changed. The truck doesn’t shift when this happens and the speedometer drops to zero. I’ve changed filters and everyone multiple times and same problem. The truck always works in the morning than after a bit this happens. I took it to the dealer and they said it needs new control module. They put the control module on and it does the same thing. Any ideas where to start?

    The allison 4500 has a second filter that is a little harder to get to. Maybe thats the problem? The valve body needs to be dropped to get to it i believe.

    They service and sell parts for allisons and know them very good. Anytime we have allison problems i always call them.

    Did you clear prognostics after changing filter and fluid? Genuine Allison filters and approved fluid? Fluid level correct?
