I have noticed that Allen Lund is using illegal lines in the Rate sheets.
For example " If no check call from driver, may be no payment"
They say that we pay in 14 days but has never been less than 4 weeks.
They will post a load from an area that has no tolls and when you call to book the load, they will say its only 25 mile from that town.
Anyway it ended up to be $1250 for 1000 miles from Monroe Twp NJ to College Prk GA and coming back up was Calhoun GA to Westfield MA
which was 1150 miles for $2150 it was again an Allen Lund agent. This was after George Washington Toll hike. Good or Bad ???

I am not sure what you mean when you say that Alan Lund is using "illegal lines" on their rate confirmation sheet. I don't sign rate confirmations which have anything that would restrict payment or fine me. I mark through anything that I don't agree. You can also add other language to a rate confirmation concerning payment and if they don't agree than you can cancel the load.
I would not have hauled the loads you listed for those rates. I don't haul freight that cheap. But, if you are happy with the rate then good for you. I get a very good rate when I cross the Hudson or I don't go. If I don't get a decent rate out of the northeast (or anywhere else), then I deadhead to a better area. Only you can decide at what rate you are willing to haul a load. I assume that you pull a van. I have a friend who is averaging over $2/mile for all miles pulling a van. I don't see how you can afford to run at those rates, especially when you are running all those toll roads. The average rate for those miles was $1.58/mile for the loaded miles. Assuming a 10% deadhead you ran those miles for a little over $1.42/mile. You can make that much or more leasing to another carrier. I would find another broker or stay out of those areas if you cannot get better rates. It is not worth hauling at those rates, at least to me. Don't be afraid to demand a better rate. If you cannot get more money then don't take the load.
One other thing that I also do is run the miles, deadhead and line haul, before I commit on a load. Some brokers are close on miles, others are not. It is up to you to check what you are told. And if a broker or shipper doesn't keep their word on payment, then they either prepay or pay COD or I don't do business with them. I have a very small group of companies with whom I do business. One reason is that I never have to worry about getting paid. Unless there is a problem with the paperwork, I have my money as agreed. I also get good rates from them. -
Today it makes 40th day after we sent them the invoice for the Tucker to Westfield MA load for $2150, and now I have sent the matter to their Surety Bond, Dave Carney C/o TIA Services , 2650 Lake Sahara Dr, Ste 200, Las Vegas, NV 89117. with demanding for 10% extra for late charges. I have no idea if DOT have any check on these brokers who are doing business in Lack of Performance and not getting any fines for it?

A month and a half later, today we received a call from some one from Allen Lund saying that they do not have the second page of the manifist?? and they do not want to honor signed papers for the detentions ( It's like, if you hire a TAXI and let them wait outside for five additional hours and then say we not paying). We have sent them the signed BOL (proof of delivery) with Lumper receipt and Time in and out, end of story. We should have been paid three weeks ago, as they claim in the above youtube video. They have played games when we asked for fuel advance and finally we gave up on it and never got it. Should have done a reserch on them before hand.
Question remains if there are any good brokers out there??? -
If you didn't send them all the paperwork then they are not going to pay you. According to your post they called and said that they didn't receive the second page of the manifest. As far as detention, some brokers and/or shippers do a better job with detention than others. Unless detention was specifically mentioned on the rate confirmation then you may or may not receive it. With brokers, it detention is always paid at the discretion of the shipper. It sounds like you covered yourself to some extent by putting times on the bills. Hopefully, you stayed in touch with your brokers during the time you were waiting.
There are some good brokers around. -

Allen Lund is a big company that has been in business a long time. The biggest issue in working with them is their offices, while all being owned by the company, operate as independent business units. Each manager is responsible only for the profit and decisions he makes for his office. Understand that one office may treat you great and with respect and another will treat you poorly. For example, the Orlando office treats carriers very fairly, the Chicago office does not.
Sexybuilt Thanks this.
