Alaska cold weather survival kit

    I may begin running our Alaska run. I'm looking for suggestions of survival gear for cold weather breakdowns at -40 ish.

    Don't over think it. Layered clothing with a very good arctic level insulated coat. Arctic sleeping bag. Food and water. And a spray can of high vis paint.

    Carhartt 2 piece lined coveralls is something I wouldn't leave home without. Worth the small investment. I've had mine for years.

    At t hat temp you want to be able to cover everything.

    Now with all that, a Mr buddy heater and several bottles of propane for it. At least enough to last a couple of days. Some way to cook, heat food, melt snow etc.

    Those goofballs on "Ice road truckers" TV show just wear t-shirts in -40 with the window down ! I wouldn't worry about it. Even outside in -40 they don't wear gloves.
