My new to me 2006 Peterbilt 335 has an annoying squeek in the drivers side air suspension. I can't tell if its pins turning in the brackets where they are not supposed to or what the deal is. It says national on the cover on the side, it has a Peterbilt logo embroidered into the fabric of the seat ( that I assume is original). I looked on the bostrom site ( there is Bostrom T915 available locally used ) I can't make heads or tails of what I would need. Most of the seats say they are wider than original, but without knowing how much wider I don't know if it clears the 2 man bench beside it.

Love the truck but the squeek is something I could do without. How do I tell what I have and what I really need?

greased up every zerk I could find...... still squeeks. My guess is either bushings are supposed to be around the pins and are long gone or ####s bent and the wrong part is pivoting where its not supposed to.

so what do I need to learn to replace the suspension or is a whole seat the way to go?

Go to a good truck/chrome shop (ie Iowa 80, etc.) and test drive some of the aftermarket seats available. You (and your backside) can thank me later.

a standard width(not wide ride)should fit next to your bench seat. My dad's truck has a 2 person bench seat and he replaced the drivers seat with a regular seat, it's a close fit but it works. Personally I would stay away from a used seat unless the owner got rid of it for a different color/style.

Used seats are bad news. When ever I changed rigs or got into a new company I usually requested a new seat to be installed because the old ones were losing bolts, arm rests or beat up etc. I pay for a bad used seat with my back day and night. But it's not something you want. Get a new Seat.

As far as squeaks grease it. Dab some of that 5th wheel grease on there.

Figures with half the stuff that is done to build a truck, a few squeaks don't matter much unless the antennas are doing a dance. =)

It's usually the rollers that dry out in the tracks, try some white lithium and spray the crap outa everything that moves or you think that might move.

White lithium does the trick. I had one and it drove me nuts. I got the spray and sprayed every contact point. Now I'm back to my usual level of insanity.

Needs new bushings. Seen it tons of times. But I will say after I started riding with the seat all the way down my back has never been better. At least with a road truck air ride seats hurt more than they help me.
