Ive been looking for an attachment that would clamp onto the valve stem to make filling up tires a little easier than holding the chuck on the valve stem for 10 minutes. Ive asked every T/A shop Ive been to if they have them, and every one said they knew what I was talking about, but didnt have any. Does any one know what this part is called?...and more importantly, where I could buy one? I would bogart one from a bicycle pump, but I doubt itd hold up to 100 psi. Thx!

Milton(Tm) makes all kinds of fittings, and the ones on the hoses they sell at the truck stops (dual foot ones) do stay on if you put just a bit of twist on them. I had to buy a different fitting to replace the one that came with the hose, It was faulty.
Milton air fittings are usually found at farm and fleet stores and some auto parts stores.
The shop boys where I drive from have special high priced ones that are supposed to stay on unless you pull them off. I'm not sure of the brand on those, they are tapered so they fit into tight places more easily.
The straight on ones work better than the angled ones, but if a wheel opening is not in the right place, the little short ones are about all that can be used. -
most air chuck's should stay on look down the top of the chuck it should look threaded on both ends to be used you may just need to twist it back and forth a little to get it to stay ..........you can find other air chucks in truck stops best ones i found are black

Here's a link to the old ball fitting that seems to fit into about anything - I'm sure there's one out there somewhere that has a gauge

Coalhauler: I noticed the threads before, but thought they were for attachments. They are much bigger than the threads on the valve stem, so I dont see how it could screw on.Last edited by a moderator: Feb 2, 2009

Those ball foot lock-ons have got a spring lever on em that locks onto the valve threads. They've always worked real well for me on truck tires and small compressors
I keep forgetting that links get pulled - I found that at Grainger - Westward Part# 2HKY3 $8.85/ea. They've been a great source for shop stuff over the years and their catalog is handy to have around. -
valve pal makes a couple of different clip-on products that you should be able to find at most major truckstops. I believe this is what your looking for...Here is a link for visual product identification only...http://www.easycart.net/ValvePal/Order_page.html
