How accurate or not do you guys think these things are? I have a peterbilt 389 with dual breathers, and my indicator broke for some reason. The top blew off... might have been from when I was in sub zero temperature... To access the filters you gotta unscrew the mirrors and what not so I assumed after 190k that must mean it was time to change filters... These trucks with duals aren't like your "simple standard" truck where the filter has 2 clips holding it so you can easily check the filter, more work is involved...

Bought new filters today ( inflated ripoff) $318 plus tax for two... Changed them although honestly they look like I could have gone another 190k on them... I also bought this new indicator... Not sure i have any faith in it... $32...

Or anyone with dual breathers, how many miles before you typically change these filters?

Have not seen any of them work for me so far. Guess it all depends on the set up but I have never been impressed. Just plan on doing the change every so many miles. I bought the Fleet Air Filter so I am gonna clean it every so many miles and be done.

    D.Tibbitt and JonJon78 Thank this.

Send picture. How many miles before cleaning? You have a single I'm assuming with the Volvo, i swear in my old truck with single it would be super dirty at 50k miles... Surprised at 190k these both aren't bad at all...

Yea that seems crazy. My other Volvo seemed like it would go 150K before seeing any issues. Gonna guess it was because something was not working right. HA Ha

I have dual breathers as well. My guage on my dash stopped working too. But when it worked never came out of the green. I change it every 2 years.

When I drove for the flatbed company we ran dual 15” cleaners and weren’t really off road or in the dust much to speak of. I think our shop checked them once a year.

Even running on the highway all the time I’m getting 80k or so out of my single one under the hood. Dual 15’s is a ton of filter to plug up.

The gauge on my truck never worked. When i was running off road everyday i would change it every 6 months or so... Highway u could probably get over 100k easily

I’ve seen those indicators on an FLD show it’s good, meanwhile the air filter collapsed from being so plugged up with dirt.
