I saw this in my farm show magizine and decided to look it up...it looks promising.
I know you have all seen or maybe done it yourself...taking the blowhard and running up and down your filter...or banging it on the ground. I have done it before on tractors.
We replace our filters...we do not try to clean them. This product might not be beneficial to an owner/oper...but a fleet might could see a benefit. This is why I'm looking at it. Maybe if we onle used it once then replace. Our issue is the T600's we have. Those single filter setups in our conditions get dirty quick. Ecspecially in the summer months.
I'm not by any means endorsing this product and have no experience with it. But I love the farm show magizine and some of the inovations are really good.
I like the fact that the nozzle spins so not to have psi on one spot for any amount of time...and it seals the inside of the filter so not to get any dust back into it. It couldn't be used on filters that filter from the inside out....but for the under hood single element filters it could be really beneficial.
What do you guys think?? Do you see anything that makes you skeptical?? Have you seen one in action? Seems like a fair price and with our trucks we would get our money back after the first round of not having to replace the filters but every other time. What scares me is hurting the paper media...I've seen this argument over and over again...to clean or not to clean.
Here is the link and a link to a video of it working.

I built an air filter cleaner out of an old centrifuge. The only problem, it was spinning so fast it began separating out the uranium 235 isotopes. I got such a big pile of it out back the feds showed up at my house all PO'd. I promised not to use it any more, and told them I would go back to doing it the old way with my anti matter reactor w/ impulse drive I got off ebay, just as soon as I get the bicycle pump fixed.
I like yours too, looks like a great idea. The only thing I would worry about is how much pressure can filter media take before it begins punching tiny holes through the paper. That would be bad... -
lol...yeah thats what I was wondering. Its not mine though. Just saw it and thought I would see what everyone thought. The holes getting punched in it is what I worry about. Its one of those things "is the benefit worth the risk". With a fleet just cleaning them once between changes would save quite a bit of money.

I was around when a whole lot of companies were washing filters, even Cat dealers.
It was a failure the washing process washed out the smaller fibers, from the filter paper, cleaned off the oil that was applied, broke loose the glue used to keep the filter paper positioned in the screen.
I rebuilt many an engine, that tried them.
I myself am willing to take a filter and drop it 2 inches, around and around to get the loose dirt out.
I am a firm believer in changing air filters in the spring either yearly or at max every two years, and when ever you remove the filter wash out the canister, and if it is on the hood, solvent test it to be sure the canister is not leaking. -
I think it is way cheaper to just replace it, vs rebuilding your engine and then installing a new filter. I am all for saving some money here and there, but there is just some things you shouldn't cheap out on! Get a quality filter restriction gauge and replace the filter when it needs it!
rollin coal Thanks this. -
$350 bucks?!?!?!?!?! looks like something a person might be able to build themselves....but id think u should be able to adjust the psi and not put as much pressure as to blow holes in the paper. just my .2 worth.

I have 2 fleet air filters I swap out every 3 months. Wash out in mop sink with Dawn detergent and let dry a couple of days before oiling up. Having 2 makes this a lot easier.
3/10ths better fuel mileage over stock OEM disposable paper filters along with reusability has paid for both filters several times over. -
Washable air filter are not efficient they are the very worst of every filter tested. I do not have the test results with me but the difference is dramatic.
From the video it looks like it does not put a lot of preasure on the filter paper, I have seen so many customers try and save a nickel and destroy an engine. The most important thing about removing and looking at an air filter is that you clean the filter housing immaculately. I have seen more engines destroyed because a pile of dirt held the filter seal away and the engine sucked in a load of dirt. The restriction guage would show a great improvement as the air bypasses the filter.
Just a thought!
