Im looking for a bit of advise and or opinions on what you would do. I have a 1998 volvo vnl64t-770 with a detroit s60. Im getting a lot of moisture in my air tanks when i drain them every day. Ok so the dryer cartridge/filter needs change right. I go to volvo to see about getting one and like i thought its rediculously priced at $300 and some odd dollars. So my thought is, either get a new cartridge or upgrade to a newer style duel filter dryer that is constant and lasts longer for the same price or less. What would you guys do?
Keep in mind my truck has around 1.5 million miles on it and its probably the dryer that came from the factory.
Thanks guys.

really you can install new driyer with cartriges for $25 easily))) LOL
any make, WABCO, Bendix/Krorr, Haldex))) -
I would like more info too. I have an old style air dryer in my 91 Ford L9000, it leaks air from the top lightly when the compressor is running. It doesn't look hard, two air lines and some electrical connectors, PLUS a way to mount.

the simple Bendix ore Wabco Euro Type driyer is the cheap solution, and easy to fix and maintane.
There are more sufisticated systems, with electronic control, heat and other stuff. Yep, they save fuel and air components, but IMO, too expencive.
As new toy I'd use is Wabco twin cartrige unit (in EU it is called double chamber).
I saw it on some Actros MP3 trucks, but really you can fit it on any truck -
$300 new sounds like a brand new complete air dryer. I paid $330 the other day for a Merit or Wabco 1200ss, brand new. The cartridge is only $50 or less.
