I currently have an air compressor on order due to mine passing quite a bit of oil. My question is regarding the timing. From what I can tell is that the accessory drive is near impossible to get out of time and that I will take the air compressor loose and have to take off the fuel pump. From there I will put in the new air compressor. When putting it in it will fit only one way into the accessory drive and the fuel pump will fit only one way with the air compressor thus causing all timing (if any) to work in the only way it can.

If I am wrong please let me know what I have wrong before the part I have comes in. I appreciate any help you have.

Additionally, I have already bought a wrench to bend into the shape required to get this thing off.

Bring motor to "A"(1-6 valve setting) Air compressor keyway to about 9:30 Put coupler on air compressor and install. Good time to change button in pump. LOL

Use the search in the upper right corner. Someone posted a pic of the manual, but I don’t remember who.

I thank that is what you were looking for but I really struggle to post things at times. KIMG1657.jpeg It came from this book.
The fuel pump is not timed! The compressor will work anyway as long as it is bolted up. Timing it to the engine reduces rattle in the gear train. There is a jack leg way an oid timer taught me on the side of the road but I would try to go by the book first.

Just now seen this, I believe he is in good hands.....

As mentioned earlier don’t worry about the fuel pump, it’s not timed. And if you have a twin cylinder compressor it’s a horse of another color too.....

I'm nowhere near the truck or the compressor right now but, I'm pretty sure it's a twin cylinder compressor. It's a Bendix 286554.

What is the difference if it is a twin cylinder for the installation?

Well that would be a Bendix. It's blue duh! Horse of a different color.
No really it is a twin cylinder and balances itself out. Timing probably makes no difference.
Just shoot us some pics of that truck working and we will all be even.
Be sure to get all new grommets for those steel tube compression fittings if that's what you have.

That one went over my head. Lol.

I appreciate it a great deal. I'll put some pictures of her getting the job done once she's back on the road and I'll make sure to get new grommets.
