I have CDL B with airbrakes upgrading to A. Am i going to perform airbrake test again? such as 1.Applied Pressure Test 2.Warning Light and Buzzer 3.Tractor/Trailer Protection Valve Pop Out? or just we will just do skill test and road test?

And what will happen to my CDL B when i fail to upgrade it? will i lose it?

Nothing will happen to your class b.

But you have to take the air brake portion of the pre-trip with the class a.

    What's the big deal anyway?

It is part an inspection and should be a periodic check during pretrips.

It's been a while since I seen these tests, but outside of the general knowledge test (50 questions) I think the others are 25 or less questions tests. In the US, I have no idea about Canada.

In BC you needed to do the air brake course, which consisted of classroom theory and then an air brake pre-trip on an actual vehicle. Then you had to take your paperwork to ICBC and do a multiple choice test to have it added to your license. I imagine Alberta is somewhat similar.

OP, don't take this wrong but you all need to put in your location when asking questions, maybe the powers at this site make it mandatory to do so to get through the member sign up process.
