Hello, I have an 88 Peterbilt 377 dump truck. I recently went to change the air brake valve and the markings on the hoses was removed. How do I find out which hose goes to the correct placement on the air brake valve?

My lines are call disconnected from the previous air brake valve. I have no idea of telling which line goes where or how to sort them out

The lines are usually not labeled.Take your vin # to Peterbilt & see if you can get a diagram of the way they hookup. It doesn't help now but in the future take a picture on your phone so you can get them hooked up correct.

We are getting closer! Trailer parking brake release valve. Can we see the back?
    Valve is probably marked sup-supply, del-delivery, ex-exhaust.
If you run the engine lines with air coming out of them go to supply, I thank you only have one. You may have to push in the tracker park to get air to it. You should have no air leak intell you push the knob in and air should escape the delivery. If you connect the correct hose to the del. you should get air out the trailer glad hand when the knob is pushed.

The back reads exhaust , delivery tractor, accessories Supply, reserve one Supply , Reserve 2 supply, and delivery trailer.

The new valve back reads delivery trailer, Supply, trailer Delivery, Supply and exhaust

So we can really get this narrowed down a bit. Looks like you have 4 loose hoses in the dash since I can see 4 fittings on the old valve.

-One fitting looks smaller than the other 3 so you know where the small line goes.
-Air fittings have a little tube that supports the inside of the hose. Only one of the three bigger fittings has the tube left inside the fitting. Look at the end of your 3 bigger hoses. The one without the tube stuck in it will go there.

That should leave you with 2 leftover lines.

Exhaust I would think could be left open or a short hose routed somewhere out of the way. Maybe someone can confirm that.
