I recently started looking around at other companies to drive for since I've spent the past 5 months with western express and dealing with their lackluster operation. I spent nearly a year with Swift before WE and while the pay wasn't as good, I certainly had less headaches. So I've also been considering lease-purchase as an option for a step in my career and I've been in contact with AG Expressline based out of Illinois, and the guy was explaining their "Rent to Own" program. Here's the detes...
Needless to say I was wary to continue moving forward with him on employment, and imagining a $1300 truck payment week after week just left me feeling quite defeated. So, I was hoping to get some professional insight on this info and perhaps suggest some other avenues to consider.

    Much appreciated!

Untill the economy gets back on track I wouldn't even consider it. If you end up sitting for a day or two per week you still gotta pay that truck payment. And they only have dryvan and right now reefer is what is moving freight.

I don't know why when the world is failing with a absolute and complete collapse of the entire trucking people think they can go ahead and get a tractor and get to work making mountains of money.

    Trucking is feast and famine.

And what we are in now is... biblical. A revelation or a wasteland on which even diamondback rattlesnakes must die.

My lease is only 2,319 per month flat. That program is not a good idea. Honestly I would look around for a good company job. They are out there just not as common as the mediocre positions. If I ever want to leave my lease I have a job offer running flatbed making 65 - 90k a year running Western 11.
