My tiny sleeper, mid roof Peterbilt has almost no room for tire chains under the bunk. Is there a company that makes a bolt on chain hanger for the frame in the usual spot(near the catwalk between the fuel tank and drives). Or is this just something I'll have to fashion on my own?

I know how to chain and avoid as necessary. But since I've already used them for the first time in a decade this year, I'd at least want them in an easier spot.

Do you drive through the Dallas / Fort Worth area? Have one removed from a 2016 Western Star when installing the apu. Mount bolts go through holes in the frame.

A bit pricey for what I'm willing to spend. Probably cheaper to just use some washers and nuts/bolts. Attach a milk crate to the cat walk and dump the 4 singles I typically use in there.

I honestly don't remember I was looking for a deck plate and saw them.on their website.. I didn't think the price was to bad
I carry my chains in the tool box on my trailer so I didn't pay alot of attention just saw they had them and know Merrit builds good stuff

I mean for the price they're well built. Not going to lie about that. But I'm just a company driver and try to buy things I'll know I'm using when I'm not out on the road.

Still, definitely a source if one's a serious owner-op or fleet owner looking to equip their own set of trucks.

Merritt. ProTech. There’s a few companies that make what you want, but they’re all about the same price.

A fab shop could make you some simple hooks from steel rod that you could bolt onto your frame rail. If you don’t use them much a crate or box on your deck plate would be the cheapest and easiest. Personally I’d only spend the money for hangers if I used them a lot and needed to keep them organized.

Well, definitely a stop at Tractor Supply for another milk crate then. Used to find random milk crates behind stores all the time. Now they're guarded better than a nuclear weapons installation!!

The truck I'm driving right now has some nice ones with a wide checkerplate aluminum lid that doubles as a step. I'll try to remember to snap a picture of them tomorrow.
