Well, I admit I did a load for them before and they gave me a fee to process my bill?!? Last time…They are on my do not haul list along with Navajo.

They requested layover but I haven't heard back. Landstar doesn't pay detention until they get paid unlike Schneider who hands out detention like Halloween candy. I got detention sometimes before I knew I needed detention.

Create a load search with SOS in the agent field. Leave everything else blank and save the search for future use. These loads are handled through corporate. Abandoned, breakdowns, trailer moves. If the trailer is loaded and needs power only sometimes you can live unload and keep the trailer.

Create another load search with TOWY and POWER in the trailer type. TOWY is a van load. POWER can be anything. These are agent loads. FedEx, Saia, empty trailer other specialty trailer moves. One way and loop runs. Long box and doubles. Some trailers are agent or customer owned and need to be returned to origin but you can reload several trips while working your way back to the drop.

Or search all van types and leave all other fields blank except team; choose your option yes/no. Search will sort high value to low for the whole system. Top results will include sub hauls for one week or more or multi stop loops which might be power/towy.

Let trailer utilization know how far you'll deadhead for an empty. You can pay for a hotel or you can pay for fuel.

Call your bco advisor for some agent names. Use agent search for agents in your region.

I did a Home Depot load once, got burned over the no empty deal, even though the the agent assured me there would be empties. Lesson learned, just stayed away from those loads after that.

Yeah. I just found out that the information the broker gave the agent was wrong and the receiver told me directly that I have a 5 day wait minimum for that unload. I won't get layover because the receiver didn't agree to this contract and they don't do what the contract says. So, I broke even this week. I'll be looking for live unloads only from now on so I have an empty. This is crazy. I'm on the trailer utilization wait list but their list is just as long either Wednesday or Thursday at the earliest. Trailers are gold commodities here at Landstar.

That happened to me once with a Home Depot load. Different company though. Somehow he (the agent) managed to get $500 a day lay over pay for the 3 days it sat there waiting to get unloaded and managed to get me another trailer to continue running as well.

I did all that. There is an agent with loads that are TOWY that originate and end 10 miles from me, but doesn't need any drivers on it. SOS board only two things that are on it are thousand or so miles away. I live close to the Ft. Worth field center. So I am just sitting at home right now waiting. When I called yesterday close to end of day, they said they were still working on the 19th, and that I might get one today. I figure if nothing else should have one by tomorrow.
