Hi guys. I'm a newbie here looking for some help and advice.

I sell theme blankets ... NFL, college, NASCAR, cartoons, Armed Services, Marylin Monroe, animals (deer, wolves, horses), etc. You folks have probably seen the blankets I sell, or something similar. They are really soft and warm.

I am wondering if there might be an opportunity to design and manufacture a blanket that would appeal to you trucker folks. I've found that most retail stores don't carry blankets that are sized very well for a trucker's sleeping berth ... they are either too big and bulky, or too thin to provide enough warmth in winter, and/or too small to totally cover a human being from head to toe (and to allow the user to tuck the blanket under his feet).

My thought is to create a kick butt blanket that (hopefully) would be carried by the travel center chains.

What do you guys think? Do you think blankets would sell at the Pilots and TAs of the world? What about if these really nice blankets bore the marks and logos of Pilot, TA, etc.? Would it be better if the blankets bore the marks of something else? How 'bout the logo of truck manufacturers like International, Peterbuilt, Detroit Deisel?

Thanks in advance. Your thoughts and input is appreciated.

I doubt it. I've used sleeping bags and comforters and standard blankets over the years. Mostly sleeping bags because of the convienence, just roll it out and climb in. Not really interested in "making my bed" in a truck. However, some guys/gals do make their bed, all nice and tidy with pillow cases !

Seems like I've seen some "blankets" sized for sleepers before but they were not made of anything I'd buy. I've found a light cotton 'quilt', folded over works well for me. It's long enough to tuck in at the foot end to hold position. Those with APU's and bunk heaters don't need or want much other than to prepare for emergency use in winter.

Your market would be companies, not drivers. Most of us use the same blanket our mommies gave us.

Agree with this one. Try marketing the polar fleece blankets with a trucking company's or trucks stop's logo on it. Personally I use a good quality sleeping bag rated to 0°f so i can sleep comfortably in the winter with the truck shut down. No bed to make with a sleeping bag. In the summer I just sleep on top if the blankets anyway.
