I’ve read this forwards and back and worked for a local DOT. Concerning this specific sign, there’s zero I can find. The closest thing my attorney or myself can find is a requirement for a two line secondary sign needing to be 18x24…which, that clearly isn’t. And the font for the gvwr…is under an inch tall for reference.

its $3000 in and going to state court at this point…local government won’t give details on sign placement or when it went in.

as far as the cop goes, he’s media reports…he wrote over 2200 tickets for “texting and driving” in a year…I’m unsure how he even finds time for court when he’s writing more than a ticket an hour.

true weight with full fuel is under 23k..issue is being bobtailed and gvwr not having the ability to pull 55k….

the angle the lawyers wanting to play is 80k-55k doesn’t equal more than 36k and go by GVW instead of gvwr. He’s trying to take trailer rating out.

There are regulations regarding sign placement. If there is a no truck route the signage has to be at a spot where a truck can take an alternate route to avoid it, for example if it’s a side road the sign has to be visible from the through road. They can’t sign it in such a way that you’re already on a prohibited road by the time you see the sign.

that’s the way I read it. This stretch of road is fairly landlocked once you see the sign. After completing the turn, you’re already passed it

the way I read this particular part, is the secondary sign has to meet a certain size requirement
