    Hi all.

I have been charged with selling advertising space on our moving and storage company's small fleet of trucks. I'm kind of lost--I am a temp who knows nothing about trucks and the little research I've done suggests to me that there is an inordinate amount of scamming and bs in the 'get paid to put advertisements on your vehicle business.'

Can any of you owner operators help me out by either (1) recommending a legit company to sell advertising space on our trucks to or (2) informing me of the 'going rate' (we have one 18 wheeler and several what I would consider 'medium size' (again I know nothing about this topic) trucks? Our hub is in Maryland, if it matters.

    Thank you so much.

    David

Maybe some truck driving schools would place ads on your trucks.

Advertisers look at three things ... number of eyes on the ad, repetition and target - impressions, repetitive impressions and targeted impressions ... how many and how many times can you get those eyes on that ad and are they the eyes the advertisers is wanting to reach.

With a truck the number of eyes can be a plus - provided you can provide the detailed data of exactly how many eyes will see their ad on your truck in a given period of time. But repetitive and targeted eyes will be hard to hit and quantify. Unfortunately, that's where advertisers put the premium.

What geographic location do you intend to target?

It would not make sense to focus on a small fleet that primarily run the midwest if you only run southwest. You could also use that as a selling point for someone who is looking to expand their geographic.

Are you only targeting O/O or the industry as a whole?

Chinatown had a good idea with the truck driving school, I would also consider perhaps OOIDA or other associated organizations. Truck Insurance companies, Finance companies. Just a thought.

I would call Swift. I think it's a cleaning product or something, I've seen them advertise on tons of trucks.
