    Hello,

I was wondering if anyone knows if there is a way for a small business to advertise on some trucks? I have some large vehicle magnets we are having made that are 24 inches by 48 inches. A friend of ours has a large box van in the tampa florida area and we told him we would give him a free stay in one of our cabins that we rent out in the Smoky Mountains of North Carolina. This got me thinking about Truck Drivers and their trucks and wondered if any of them would be interested in doing something similar?

I found a few websites that offer services for ad space on trucks but they want thousands per month and its usually for these huge ads that take up the entire side of a truck and we just cant afford anything like that.

Thank you for any direction you can point me in.

    Annie B.

In advertising, anything is possible. Be aware that many trailers and "boxes" are aluminum and this is going to be an issue for magnetic signs. But if you made sure to deal with someone who only operates in your target area, lawn-care people, plumbers, etc, it might be a mutually beneficial business relationship.

You can try posting in the expedite and hotshot forums here but I think the compensation would have to be better . Do you have enough free cabins if there is a large response ? Do you have parking for a 1 ton truck with a 48' trailer ?

    Hi Rick,

Thank you for the fast reply and the guidance on where to post. My hope would be to find a few dozen truckers who would be interested in swapping out the space for our small sign in exchange for a free weeks stay in one of our cabin rentals. I guess I had been assuming when they visited us they would be on vacation and would not have their big rig with them. We have 28 cabins so we would be able to handle a large response. Just wanting to find some good honest family people looking to do some good ole fashion bartering.... Thanks again for your help. Annie

Expediters usually run 3 or 4 weeks then take a week off . Many campgrounds welcome expediter straight trucks .

    May want to consider also.

I am from MN. I can and know of others that get to your area.

I am guessing that a dead time for you for the "locals" would be winters. If that is the case, then a truck advertising a nice warm place in Jan/Feb in a place that's blustery and miserably cold like MN/WI/IL/ND/SD would offer you a different market that could strengthen a week time of the year for you.

The power of OTR trucks. That little sign would cover a LOT of ground and demographics on interstates.

MNdriver, talk to the people at the Lease Companies in Litch. Their step mom lives across the street from us, they do the placemats at the local restaurants. I tried to get them involved when looking at wheel covers and they forwarded me to another agency that does things like that.
