I have two questions on this.....we are O/O leased to a company where we use their dot and MC #, and their cargo liability ins) but we find/negotiate our loads (the company signs the paperwork and collects the money after paying us).
Do we have to have the insurance?
Can the company force us to get the insurance, and only through them?

You can read the lease you signed, OOIDA web site can help you if you are not a member, the bank you have your truck loan with will need a copy in case of fire or loss, but you can buy insur. at any co. of your choice.

If you are leased to them you have to use their insurance in most cases because you are operating under their authority. My question is why don't you get your own MC and DOT then it won't be an issue.

Something changes. I'd ask them why. However 99.99% of the companies I knw require you to carry their insurance in case of an accident or claim.

This says that the lease must state who is paying for what, and based on things that are happening, it looks like they are forcing our hand.
A letter was sent out the end of Oct (which most of us ignored because things were not clearly said) that said "Everyone will be enrolled November 1 and monthly payments will come out of the first settlement in December"....."Please sign the paper with your name, license, etc and return"....I guess a lot of us didn't sign and now they are pushing it and saying this is mandatory.
