I had freon put in ac system and it lasted about 30mins before leaking out. This product by ac pro called super seal claims to not only seal leaks in rubber parts and orings but also in metal parts. What do yall think?

Don't waste your money. If it leaked out that fast, no sealer is going to seal it up. Find the leak and repair it properly.

There will be a good amount of oil residue where the leak is. Should be easy to spot.
-
Don't use sealant. It can really raise heck with the evacuation/recycle/charging machine. Poster above is right...there should be oil & maybe some fresh dirt around the leak. The only way to have things last is do the repair correctly.

Dont do it, shouldn't be hard to find a leak that big.

With a leak that bad they should have noticed it wasn't holding vacuum (or pressure if they pressure tested it w/nitrogen). I have only done a handful of A/C recharges but my advice is to stay away from the mechanic in a bottle. A lot of guys with a lot more experience in A/C than myself have told me it can make a mess of the system to which the remedy usually is full system replacement since its apparently not easy to clean that stuff out.

Number one spot for a leak is probably the condenser. It's right out front, prime target for road debris.
Number two would be the front seal on the compressor. This is harder to spot because the oiliness is hidden by the clutch. Also look at the o-ring on the high side of the compressor manifold.
Three, a hose. But you say it lasted 30 minutes... hoses usually just blow.
Look at the metal lines where they go through rubber coated brackets. The rubber sometimes hardens and breaks off, leaving metal to metal contact.
Lastly, the evaporator. If it has ever iced over real bad from a bad temp cutout switch or bad expansion valve, it can break the tubes.blairandgretchen Thanks this. -
Found the issue, i added freon and cab began to cool down, then the ac compressor got too hot and shot out freon. So the ac compressor is becoming too hot, what to do to fix issue

My guess is you have an issue in the compressor clutch control circuit. A properly operating system the clutch should cycle on/off as pressure rises and falls. My guess is the compressor isn't cycling off, which would likely explain the excessive heat build up from overpressurization. Your engine fan should also be cycling on/off when the A/C is switched on with the truck stationary.

If the compressor "shot out" freon, you have bigger issues. The pressure got too high, probably because of multiple issues. It sounds like the system is blown up and full of metal.
Is this a Columbia? If the condenser plugs up on those, the A/C clutch will not get the signal to shut the compressor off because the switches are beyond the condensor in the flow.
What is the history on A/C repairs?
