What is the best option for decent AC in my 362 Cabover w/350 BC Cummins. I was wondering if a rootop or something like that would actually cool. Alabama summer is brutal. And if something like a rootop would work whats the best options. Thanks

Kysor if you can still find them.

Red Dot sells aftermarket systems.
I drove a truck before that was set up with that and it did cool the truck well.
*** sorry I forgot you said you had a cab over. Not sure about that for a cabover. -
Red Dot is also top self. Not sure they make roof mounts.
-
Red dot makes one that is about 40% higher than the Bergstrom/Kysor
-
Looks like I'll look at them very close since seems to be consensus they cool well. Gotta do something before next years wheat crop. This one is rough..lol

We have some silage trucks with Red Dot frame mounted condenser units, even if they came with factory air. Those maybe easier to install. Blue to the left has a roof mounted factory installed Kysor. The evaporter and outlets are in the dash. It puts the air where you want it. That is nearly as important as having it in some cases.
I see some folks running a generator with a roof mount R/V unit or household window unit ( looks like crap ). Maybe we can here something from them? -
it can be easy to find a under dash unit out of a volvo wagon, they fit under the bunk and will blow enough cold air to keep you cool and the heater is built into it, the rear a/c unit out of a chevy sub will work but its smaller?
Oldironfan and BoxCarKidd Thank this. -
That is some cool thanking!
