I drive an international straight truck, local NJ, NY & PA. Got an ABS violation in PA, took it in to international dealer, it was a module adjustment cost $79. Now the attorney I hired in Allentown is saying the owner must come to court! My attorney's that I use in ny & nj say they've never heard of this, truckers hire attorneys to represent them so they can be out driving instead of sitting in court all day. Is this a PA thing?

I can't help you. I just wanted to say I love the abs light. All our brand new trailers with disk brakes have the abs light on. The sensors rusted out and now the lights are on. Company is working to switch out the parts with better ones but you can only do so much Half the trailers drivers unplugged the lights already or we just run them as is. I personally think that light is worthless. You get some debri on the sensor and it malfunctions. Wth!

They don't call it A, BS light for nothing. I'm sure the "black tape" over the light may look a little fishy, so if you can get behind the dash (somehow) take the bulb out. Problem solved.

I'm in PA now,but can't help you on the court thing. ABS circuit to test is supposed to work at key on and any time the power to the circuit is interrupted. The light can be on,by statute, but the test circuit must be operational also by statute. We have some that are almost always not working right, the Utility r3000s and we have the Great Danes that usually do work right and all of our trailers are experienced. It's a never ending find and fix thing. Some enforcement will try to cite an ABS light on as a malfunction and going to court to fight the citation is an expense. Mostly, I have been lucky to not cross a scale with a non working light or one on all the time.

Straight truck should be less troublesome, but even a 4 wheeler can have an ABS malfunction. Most still drive those, too, just don't have properly working anti-lock brakes. Probably stop quicker, but more likely to skid with wheel lockup.

I just unplug it and report the problem when I drop it.

No can do Semi. NY DOT stick their heads right in the truck and make you cycle the key so they can see it flash on the dash and then go out. Then they walk back to the trailer and make you cycle the key again. Only way I know to defeat it is put the lights on toggles and flip the toggle on and off....or buy a truck older than 1996 I think it the exempt DOM..

NY dot just got me for this. My trailer abs light only lights up briefly when I push the brake. It does not cycle at first key on. The dash doesn't light up any abs lights. It is a 2000 fl classic. I'm hoping this will be a fuse so I can sign the report and send it in ... Any ideas anyone?

    1. Do you own the trailer?
    2. What year is the trailer?
    3. Understand you have no dash light. Does the truck cycle through the ABS test (do you hear click click near the drives) when you key on?

Yes I own truck and trailer. The truck does do the clicks, two rounds of clicks, I'm not sure there are even abs lights in the dash.

Is the trailer also supposed to do the click click thing?
