Been think'in long and hard about some trucking co's around the Phoenix AZ erea, and Roehl is one of them. Currently reside in the SW/PA erea, and planning on moving to Phoenix sometime in the future. Is Roehl a good company to look into for a driver of 20+ yrs exp.

Wondering about the kind of $$$ that i can expect weekly, dont expect to get rich, but need atleast $700 to $800 take home to swing it, other wise its not worth it. Please Advise

In my opinion no Roehl is not a good company for drivers with alot of experience. They are a good starter company, and have all of the rules and policies for that type of driver. As for the money, I am not sure how the guys out of the Phoenix area do. I just left Roehl last week, and my average take home for the last several weeks has been closer to $500-$550. That said I do pay for insurance, HSA and accident insurance out of every check so that is a little over $100 per week. With 20+ years you can do better, keep looking...

Look into marten, they hire out of phoenix. You would be on western regional fleet, probably bring home $800.00 a week average at 2500 miles p/week. Im into my fourth year here. But be prepaired for alot of tight overnite runs. There a refer company. Oh, and they run electronic logs.

There is a lot of flatbed running out of Phoenix from what I've been hearing from the skateboard haulers.

I have talked to several company drivers with more than 10-20 years of driving, and are happy here. Guess it all depends on the fit between you and the company.

You have to look at more than just avg take home pay with any job
Roehl has a pretty good benifits package , 401k, and profit sharing. Along with different fleet and hometime options. Yeah there a training company , but they are also a good home for
Us experianced drivers. It all comes down to what works for you and your family.

We are... "Meddlesome," "Micromanaged," and "Big-Brotherly"

This is what happens when you run diametrically opposed to the "you are the steering-wheel holder of truck xxxx"

We only want you to think for yourself, when you're going to make the right decision.

We tell you when to drive, when to idle, when to go home, and when to leave. We tell you how fast to go, what roads to take, and where you should stop on the way.

If you don't like anything that we tell you, feel free to give us a call, and we'll listen to your ideas. If they seem reasonable, we may even change our minds. But, we may not be willing to substitute your judgement for ours.

I agree with Old School, I wouldn't think, objectively, that Roehl would be the best choice. But, that's soley based on the idea that you have 20 years of experience, and wouldn't like the yoke that Roehl would place around your neck. The only drivers I know, that have that level of experience before coming here, were in semi-retirement, and were working one of the part-timer fleets.

and, $800/ week gross? at 40c/mile, that's 2000 miles a week, yeah Roehl should really be good for that.

So many other places out there... Roehl is good for getting your 2 yrs then moving on.. period. some make it longer.. but over the 2 yrs i was there, i seen sooooo many exp. drivers leave. even many with 10+ yrs in with Roehl.

I here ya big guy, 2750 average sounds pretty darn good to me for what i want to do, which at .41 a mile, plus tarp pay, i can knock down eight bills take home a week easy. Probly not gonna stay at Roehl for no 2 yrs, just plan to jump aboard long enough to get relocated in the Phoenix erea.
