I see a lot of posts about FedEx freight , Conway and ups freight on the pay. And how great it is. I was wondering if anyone knows about abf freight I have a possible job offer from them and just wanted some info. Any replays would be greatly appreciated

They all pay about the same. Some have different overtime setups but their base pay is all close to the same.

When I was with Roadway (prior to the Yellow deal) the pay was less than UPS but higher then Conway and FedEx Freight. UPS had just been on strike and scored a nice increase.

Anyone work for them? Got a bit more info than that? Thought about checking them out myself.

Should be over $22/hr. although they could have tier system. Tier system starts you off at say 75% with a bump every 6 months till you get to 100%. Seems it took 4 years to get to top rate. There may also be an A&B plan on the Health and Welfare. No matter how you look at it it's a good deal. If the Central States Pension Fund hangs in there it comes out to $100/year or 30 years $3000.00. A friend of mine has been at ABF a long time and gets 60hrs every week, but he has tons of seniority. I think Akron and Canton are looking for local casuals.

That is about an hour plus drive for me. The only opening they had in Youngstown was for part time, can't afford part time.. Well that sucks.. I need to get out of this #### minimum wage job I got now.

Sorry i was thinking Leetonia was closer to Akron. What about R&J ?

I thought about it, but have heard some bad things from ex-drivers that work for my company.. Truth be told, I would honestly like to get out of the dump game. Tennis shoes, and shorts type of job. lol. Sounds stupid, I know. I am very strange when it comes to switching jobs.. Once I get settled in some where, I make every excuse for not wanting to change jobs.. plus, I am really picky, because I don't want to leave what I know, and can deal with for something I may hate more.. hard to explain. Nothing scares me or makes me nervous, except for changing jobs.
