Can anyone give me some info on AAT Carriers? Husband and I recieved a call from them last week. Said they found our names and app on a website. Pay and miles sound great, but we are hesitant. We can't find any info on them. Used this search box and there isn't anything. If anyone can provide some info, we would appreciat it. Thanks in advance!!

We have friends who were some of the first hired by AAT back in 2007 when they first started buying trucks. They worked for them for a couple of years, helping them get their operations off the ground then all of the sudden AAT went to a new pay package, and fired everyone of the drivers who were under the original pay package, never even giving them a choice if they wanted to stay under the New pay package or not.
AAT hauls ammunition and explosives for the Dept of Defense and requires you to be able to obtain a government secret clearance. If you are interested in this type of work, PM me and I can give you other suggestions with other carriers you may be interested in. -

We were the 11th team hired at AAT. It is true that there was a big lay off. It is not true that ALL teams under the original pay package were let go. Since that re-organization, the company has evolved. There is no perfect company out there. AAT still has some operational faults but are so much better than in the beginning. There was a learning curve at the start. Very few of the drivers had DoD experience and the company had none so we all basically had to learn as we went. The current pay package is one of the higher in the market. Miles are as good as you make them. We are a small fleet so they really can't cherry pick teams to freight but if there is more than one team available for a given load and that load has to go, they will match the team to the freight. You have to be able to manage your time and be a self starter. The company does not micro manage you. They expect you to be able to choose the best legal route and plan your trips to be on time and available to run when empty. It is high security freight with extra rules and regulations to follow. Flexibility is a must because we are so small. Your load may change 3 or 4 times in one day, based on the customers' needs. Communication with the office when low on hours is a must. We try to let them know at least one load out that we're going to need a reset so they can plan to give us the time we need to get our hours back. We all do load and stage. We all do drop and hook. We have both company drivers and O/O. Starting pay is based on what you bring to the table. You must be able to qualify for a Secret Clearance and have your hazmat endorsement. AAT helps you get your clearance. We have BC/BS insurance including dental and vision, 401k w/match, vacation pay plan. Getting new 680s some time around December for company trucks. We do have drom boxes on the company trucks. Pull all 48 ft vans. No APUs, we idle. Company allows us to modify our trucks within reason and you can have your inverter added.
