There are lots of reasons they are a better company. I never said Aaa Cooper was bad. Old dominion maintains their trucks very well they offer detention and break down pay after 1hr its $31hr. So if you have to wait on a load for two hrs you will get paid $31hr same with break down pay. Their benefits are cheaper then aaa cooper. Aaa cooper team trucks go faster though i think they go 67mph and OD Only go 65mph. OD as of now OD pays more but aaa cooper is slowly catching up in pay. I can go on and on but anyone in ltl will probably agree OD is the better job but again aaa cooper is a good company . I was going to work there but my wife didn't want to team drive anymore and i live too far away to drive solo with them.. they do have dedicated routes with 5800-6k miles a week so thats a plus. You will make 120-130k with aaa cooper so you will make money. You do get drop and hook pay as well as fueling pay at OD as well. I do believe aaa cooper pays drop and hook pay as well now. Again it probably going to come down to culture really.. i talked to a team at aaa cooper and they absolutely loved it and said it was the best job they ever had and that i would love it there.. Good luck on your journey i believe you will be happy there.
AAA cooper will begin paying time and a half!

Thanks for the info. Brian the manager told me we might get a raise on July pumps up to .86 cpm that's still pretty good if the weekly mileage what they advertise. Good luck on your journey too
Otr Traveler Thanks this. -
Brian s? Yeah hes a good guy spoke with him many times. Yeah aaa cooper starts out higher then OD. OD teams start at .82cpm and aaa cooper starts at 0.84cpm. But OD tops out in 2yrs is almost .91cpm right now. But they get a 2.5-4 cpm raise every year. So when im topped out in 2yrs the top out pay will probably be 0.96cpm-$1.00 a mile.
I wouldn't mind working under Brian S he seems like a very mellow manager and easy to get a long with. Again you will be fine you will make great money and you will enjoy working there. You will get the job as well so i wouldn't worry much. Brian was supposed to email or call me when he had a team partner available for me but he never did unfortunately so i applied elsewhere. So if they are in the process of giving you a drug screen then im assuming they have someone to team with you which is awesome for you. Good luck and be safe let me know how you like it there..Last edited by a moderator: Feb 27, 2024

I sent you a link for team drivers in conley, ga at OD.. I KNOW they need 2 more drivers I've talked to the terminal manager.. but i get it you already got an offer just sending you the info do with it what you will. Congratulations everything will work out for you whatever decision you make.. Sorry about yellow that was an unfortunate situation you all endured and should never have happened. Keep in touch best of luck driver.. -
Thanks man. I'll go with aaa cooper for now and see where things goes from there this is the first time driving teams. I don't really have that much experience. I only been driving for 8 years but hopefully

Ive only been driving for 6yrs. Drove with my wife for 5yrs and 1yr with random team drivers. My wife didn't want to drive anymore and i live too far to do solo linehaul.
Teaming will be an adjustment period for sure. You have to learn to sleep while the truck is moving and most people can't do that so they quit or drive extremely fatigued cause they didn't get any sleep. It's definitely not for everyone.. but after a few weeks you should be fine. But id say do it for a few years build up your senoirity and then bid on a solo route.
Good luck, stay safe out there driver. -
Thank you driver. Unfortunately the driver I was going to team up with got disqualified because of his background so I don't know what they going to do. But he told to find someone I know or find me someone.

Old dominion will partner you with someone unlike Aaa cooper. So if i was you id apply at OLD DOMINION you don't have anything to lose. If Brian calls you back before you get hired on with old dominion then go with aaa cooper.
