This is one of the best places to work for. If you can get on with them and the best part is their not (UNION).

Yea, it is once you are full time. The part time on call thing did not work well for me. I would call in when I got up and if they did not need me I would find something to do around town. Usually 16 hrs later right as I am exausted they would call and want me to go to Mobile, Birmingham, ect. By then when I would drive it I had a problem staying awake to come home. This was the main problem I was having with it.

I really don't know alot about them but they are LTL (less than truckload) most of these company s are seniority based and if are a JR driver it will be tough to get seniority these days. Once you do get a steady schedule the pay is decent and the benefits are great

I guess the big question would be whether or not they are even hiring these days!

When we had the Roadeo here in Texas I spoke with several different drivers from numerous LTL carriers and they all said that freight was very slow, some had been asked to take pay cuts, work less hours, or take extra days off. They were even a few that were worried about being laid off. I felt bad for some of them cause they really seemed concerned about their jobs - especially the YRC guys!

I've worked LTL myself & I enjoyed it. I was a local P & D driver so I was home every night, worked from around 9am to 9pm M-F & I had a set route/customers that I worked with every day. I would say that it is definately worth it if you have the patience to hang in there.

Yea, they are "feeling" the effects of this economy too. Here is a news article frrom back in July talking about the cuts they were making.

It depends on the Termiinal. Frieght usually starts picking up this time of year. All the LTL companies are about the same. I am sure one of the LTL companys is looking for a driver. I would pick up the phone book and just start calling.

AAA Cooper Called me Friday morning. I have an interview Tuesday. For Line-haul. home everyday. .49cpm $20per hr. I can make it just fine on that. He also said bids coming up soon. I hand a friend that worked there. We both worked together at Saia. He said AAA was much better atmosphere. And yes NON-UNION YAY! Family owned. I don't need a Union. I can make it on my own.Its called being an individual, self reliant, self motivated. The American way not communist way.
