A few pictures from the past in Europe. Unfortunately I lost the pictures of my first trucks, but here are a few from the early and later 90's.
    Mein Scania2.jpg
My Scania 113, 360 HP, you see we use mainly 2 axle trucks and 3 axle trailers in Europe.

    Mein Scania3.jpg
If it fits, it fits, tight spot in Holland.

    Mein Scania4.jpg
Backing in a tight spot in Belgium, the car blocked the entrance.

    MORSCH1.JPG
Mercedes 1844, 440 HP in the later 90's, my oversize load career started, on the way from Germany to Croatia.

    MORSCH8.JPG
Three of our trucks on the way to Dundalk, Ireland, parked in England and waiting for police escort.

    MORSCH10.JPG
    Locomotive from Spain to Switzerland.

    MORSCH11.JPG
From Spain back to Germany, gross weight about 135,000 lbs, with this trailer and permit I was allowed to haul up to 129,000 lbs, but nobody cared ;)

    MORSCH12.JPG
Over length from Italy to Norway, waiting for the ferry in Denmark.

Thanks Kraut, ( sorry, I've got to tell ya', I have a little trouble calling you "kraut" as that was always a derogatory term for German's, at least in my parents house, but if you're cool with it,) It's cool to see stuff from other countries, as there's very little on vintage trucks from Europe. It seems, America stuck with the tandem axle setup, while Europe adopted the single axle tractor and tri-axle trailer, which I always thought, was a better setup. I'm sure our way of doing things ( weight wise) will be a little tough. After 35 years, I still can't figure out the "bridge law" here. Thanks for the pics.

This was taken about 16 yrs ago in San Simeon, CA on Hwy 1. Most of my pics of this area were a result of the damage caused by the "El Nino" storms of Jan-Feb 1998. D-8 with 1 CHP in tow & 2 in front, headed NB. This stretch of highway from San Simeon to Big Sur is mentioned in Modern Marvels Most Dangerous Roads episodes. More El Nino rains coming this winter I guess...

@truckdad, I used to love taking that on my motorcycle. Not so sure I would have wanted to do it with an oversize load though. . .
I haven't been over it since oh probably '79 or so, I know it was changed seriously by those storms.

Big Don, I hauled so much equipment up there that I was able to buy a 2nd lowbed by June 98 & hire a driver. The road repairs went on for 2-3 yrs after that. After they reopened the road (still during const.) a door swinger must have decided to take the scenic route from Monterey south. At the very last right hand hairpin, 1 mile south of Ragged Point, he dropped his trailer axles off the road & it sucked the whole rig 100' down in the gulley. I had made the same turn with my 7 axle several times but one had to take literally every inch of road available on the outside edge. Did you ever ride over Nacimiento-Ferguson Rd. that goes east over to Hunter-Liggett?

Nope, never did that one. In fact, I had to look at a map to see what/where it is. But from Google Earth, it looks like it would be a fantastic ride!

Don, I have a good story about that road involving 8 lowbeds with D-8s, a forest fire, & 3am darkness! Will write it out some day & post.

This pic was taken in June 88 at Empire Cat in Mesa, AZ. I was picking up a 637D & was watching as they removed the last tire from this 992. Some of you old timers might recognize this Mack with the Greentree emblem on the door. If I'm not mistaken, this was previously owned by Leon Peterson /F&B Truck Lines out of SLC, Leon was a legend in the heavy haul business back in the day from what I heard. Somebody please correct me if I have this wrong, its been a while ago.
