This is a 1968 R model with a big 6cyl gas engine. Found it while looking for a spare Big Cam here close to home. Being a ex fire truck I'm sure is why it has twin distributors A&B to switch between them. Nothing like spare points already set up lol! The

I can do points. Ive done em.

I would however hate to drive gasoline engines of that vintage, the rev tach must be dam near 4 grand...

Two other things are a blast from the past for me. The oil spinner on the block there and the very simple electrical panel at firewall.

    slickWillie1980 and OLDSKOOLERnWV Thank this.

    Maybe its older than that
I remember the 69 r I drove as having light green interior, 70s having brown interiors 80s having black.

Edit: ex fire truck would explain the red, Never mind, should have read it instead of just looking at the pictures

That would require also changing the transmission and rear and gearing, or you'd have a top speed of about 35 mph.

Would a gasoline mack have a 5 speed transmission?

I had a 5 speed R model Mack with the henrickson walking beams and this gas engine mack find has caused me to question the parents origin as it were of the one mack I remember.
