They are slow, always loading out of that one door around back. Always heavy too. Last time I was there I was in and out in under 2 hrs... But I've also collected some detention there's too....

Well this week has been avery trying week. I had a multi stop run that started at Jennie O in Barron, WI. First stop was piggly wiggly near Milwaukee, very tight in there. Second stop was a place called Roundys, nice and easy. Third stop was a food bank in Racine, WI, not much room to work with but good people. That was day one, i stopped at an oasis near OHare airport for the night since i ran out of hours. Next morning started at 230am went to Meijers warehouse in northern Indiana. Hauled butt down to the last stop in Shelbyville, Indiana to the Kroger DC and thats when the brakes fell off. It took 6 1/2 hours to get 3 pallets off and out of there. Thank god for detention pay. By the time I got out of there it was all I could do to get safely to a truck stop for the night. I was supposed to pick up a load of beer in Columbus Ohio but with no hours i talked to dispatcher about issues at last stop and found out I could pick up in the morning. I go and get my trailer washed out early near the Indiana ohio border and headed to budweiser. I get load locked down and estimate where i needed to move my trailer tandems to be legal on weight, i drive across the scale and BAM, right on the money. They seal it up, and I took off. I will say that the security staff at the plant was by far the most decent I have seen so far. Tonight I bed down and shower at the flying J at mile marker 240 off I65 in Indiana. I always stop in here to sleep or fuel, this place is huge and always room to park, plus it's easy place to park. Tomorrow I continue my drive to Minnesota for Mond a y delivery. Next week i have some home time coming at the end of the week so it s hould be interesting to see how they get me to Fort Worth.

Hey janda c, sounds you weathered the storm. Some weeks out here will work like clock work, and others, anything that can go wrong, will go wrong. They have plenty of freight going out of Mn. and ND to get you home. Enjoy your hometime. And as always, be safe.

    janda c Thanks this.

Hey janda, sorry if you mentioned it earlier in the thread but, is Magnum the first company of your driving career? And is the twin cities traffic/drivers particularly bad, good, or same 'ol compared to other cities you have experience so far? Thanks for keeping your thread alive, enjoying very much.

Not speaking for Janda C but the traffic in the Twin Cities is not bad at all in my opinion. Nothing to get hung about. Strawberry fields forever. LA, Atlanta and Nashville are far worse and even Nashville has the 155 Briley Parkway. A good workaround.

Thanks again lol. I read so many posts I didnt realize the answer to my question was in the very first sentence at the start of this thread...

I understand that comprehension of paper maps is valuble, but does Magnum have any sort of GPS or routing type technology or would that be something I bring aboard?

I think most companies have on board GPS in their communication squawkbox, but most choose to get a second gps. When I was at Abilene, that GPS left me in the dark more than 50 percent. At Trans Am, the on board GPS has been far more reliable and is the only one I use.
