average Mileage per month :11500 miles
Getting paid 80% of rate from the company :1.6 CDN/mile For the whole year 2023
    After insurance,Company charge and fuel.

    How do you think?

What are you getting 80% of? Is that 80% of gross revenue or 80% after insurance and any deductions?

Are you getting $1.60 per mile after all of the bills are paid?

$1.60 CDN is $1.19 USD per mile. With 138000 miles at a rate of $1.60 CDN per mile and $1.19 USD per mile that comes out to $220,800 CDN and $164,220 USD.

Are these numbers close to what you made for 2023?

Think he said it was after the companies cut, insurance and fuel.
So that just leaves maintenance, payments if he has any and profit.
    Sounds not bad to me.

We are paid by percentage,For example if a load were thousand dollars then we would get $800. The company take 20% away

My number it‘s after fuel and insurance and the 20%,In the whole year it was C$1.6 per mile

If you are keeping $220,800 CDN or $164,220 USD after the company takes their 20% cut, fuel and insurance then I would say you have done quite well in my opinion.

How much did you spend on...

    Truck Payment $
    Trailer Payment/Rental $
    Maintenance $
    IFTA Taxes $
    Registration $
    Legal Fees $

How much did you get to keep out of your $220,800 CDN?

If I am being nosy and intrusive please tell me. Are you set up as a sole proprieter in Canada or an LLC taxed as an S-Corp where you pay yourself a salary?

Truck Payment $ 5750 Per month for three years loan
Trailer Payment/Rental $ Paid 65,000 Canadian for cash
Maintenance $I think the average it would be less than $1000 per month because I did oil change by myself,No major repair because warranty
IFTA Taxes $ My company paid it before pays to me,So don‘t know
    Registration $Same as above
Legal Fees $ Here I I would say less than $500 per month for accounting etc.

How much did you get to keep out of your $220,800 CDN?
We are O operator so basically we can take whatever we want,But I am listening to my accountant to do it legally and wisely

$220,800 CDN is good money. And thats after fuel? Whow, now I see what my Accountant was telling me about some O/o's are earning well over $200k still in these times. Prolem im having is my Flatbed experience of 3 years was back in the late 90's (rack & tarp, step deck and some heavy haul etc ) however, they want recent experience within the last 5 years. Its kind of a joke after driving for almost 30 years.

I think overall you did quite well. Taking care of as much maintenance and repairs as possible will assist you in keeping more money in your pocket so good job on that one.

Does your company have multiple customers that you move freight for?

    Vampire Thanks this.
