The bottom bolt on the passenger side light bracket just spins. Any idea how I can get ahold of it. Or some way of getting it out...

Are you talking about the one that also holds the air cleaner bracket to the cab thats 9/16/ you can take the lower kick panel off by the fuse box and remove fuse box by unscrewing the two Phillips screws at the bottom lay it out of the way and you can see the insert Probly gonna have to cut the bolt from the out side with a die grinder then remove aircleanrer bracket and grind or drill the insert out the tool is expensive so eaither take it to the dealer or run a nut and bolt for now make sure you use silicone or water will get in
-
Sorry I forgot you said passenger side best bet is to get the insert out put it back together without the bolt and take it to peterbuilt remove air cleaner and theb have them replace the insert I don't belive you can get to the lower insert without taking the a/c box out
-
So would I have to get the a/c drained out before getting this done.. Thanks for your response...
-
No it dosent go into the a/c box but in order to get to the backside of the insert you would have to pull the a/c box which would mean pulling the whole dash assy out to remove a/c box let me check one of the petes at work and see if you can see the insert
-
Is this the light bar in front of the air cleaner or next to the door? If its next to the door pull off the lower kickpanel with the a/c filter door and the insert is right there if you pull out the glovebox assy you might be able to reach in and feel the front ones might have to find someone with small long arms I would go to Sears and get some of the stripped nut sockets and you might be able to get it to bite if not your gonna have to cut the head off the bolt off and do it the hard way

Thanks truck mechanic... It's the one in front of the breather, the bottom one...

When you put it back together i would put some never sieze or something on the bolt threads. I like white lithium grease, but some people do not either one works. White lithium is easier to clean up.
