Good morning fellas. I have a 95 kenworth t800 with 100 gallon tanks on each side.fuel is transefring from driver side to pasenger side.
This morning I got up to pump fuel and my passenger side tank was full and my driver side had a 1/4. Last time I pumped was couple days ago and filled half way on both tanks. So I filled the driver side up and now it's overflowing the passenger side. Took off cap and spilled some . What can I start by doing ? Thank you

Are the vents in the fuel caps clean?

Does it have a vent in cap also ? These tanks have a vent in the middle with a black hose running down about half way

That is strange. Is it possible the return is filling the tank, but it's not drawing from both? Or is there more than gravity feed between them?

There's a fuel block, some call it a fuel manifold where all the line tie in there could be an issue there. I'd see which line was the return for the passenger side and clamp it off and see what happens. I had valves installed on my truck just I case anything like this ever happens or I just want to use one tank.

Not sure I tried blowing in the vent on driver side and can't blow in it . I tried blowing in passenger side , it blew bubbles , checked it 5 min later I couldn't blow no more I'm guessing because it's full

Does fuel get sucked from both tanks ? And is there a return for both tanks as wel ?

Had this same problem on my 95 T800 years ago. Get some pipe plugs and remove and plug/cap the return line on the tank that's overfull. Take plug/caps off when tanks equalize. Problem is most likely the return valve that is mounted over the transmission. Real pain in the rear to get at! I always had this valve replaced when ever the trans had to come out.
Yes fuel is drawn from both tanks.

It should be and there should be separate returns for both.

sounds like the vent on the drivers side is plugged up.
