I drive a dump truck at my job, used to be a plow truck, is it normal for these things to sometimes not have a PTO on/off switch?

    Wont let me insert images.

Green knob pulls in and comes out like a throttle control, does nothing. Dump will raise with it in and out.

Most plow trucks have full-time engine mounted PTOs to run the hydraulics for the plow while driving.

Its a 30 year old truck and there are hundreds of companies out there that upfit trucks. If there's a switch it could be located anywhere. There is no industry standard for things like that.

I've seen PTO controls on the dash, beside the seat, on a center console, etc. Seen them air actuated, electrically actuated, electric over air, cable/mechanical linkage.

    Heavyd Thanks this.
