Hey everybody, i'm a new user to this forum, and was just wondering if anybody can tell me why there is no findable aftermarket support for 1986-87 peterbuilt 359 dual rectanglr headlights? we have an 86 model with an 8v92 detroit and 13 speed. it has the dual rectangles. we were wanting to keep it as original as possible. so far we have not had any luck finding any new parts for these headlights. What we need is basically all the internals, as the old stuff is just rusted away. And nobody so far can tell us if 379 dual rectangle inserts will fit in them or not. I'm sure some of you are going to say go with dual rounds , but like i said we want it original as possible. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I attached a picture of the truck,it is still a work in progress. IMG_20190102_145916467[1].jpg

I just asked my shop and was told that the guts in a 379 dual rectangle headlamp housing "should be the same" as the older 359's.

I used 379 headlights on one of my 359's, I cut the turn signals off the ends and made a little aluminum plate. Looked ok. Yeah, those 359 rectangle are hard to find. Maybe go with the older double round, or a single round chrome one. Those look ok too. Cool truck, I knew a guy had a Pete with those colors.

Well, it's one BIG stack. I agree, all Pete's need twin chimney's. And regular ones, not 8" sewer pipes. That never did anything for me.

Sorry it took me so long to reply, We are going to have dual stacks, we just havent got the other mounted yet. we bought this thing with a blown engine and a host of other problems, and were slowly getting it fixed up. We're mostly done with the mechanical stuff, just a lot of polishing and cleaning yet.

IMG_20190128_154542094.jpg Pretty good; all things considered. We ended up buying a set of inserts for a 379 dual headlight system and disassembling them and using those parts in our headlight bodys. Wasent an exact fit,but it worked! so we have it running and actually probably going to start hauling grain with it next week. I'll attach a pic,tho I dont have a totally current one. we have fender mounted turn signals and headlight bezels installed also. I'll see if I can take and upload a current picture in a few days.
