Anybody with a comdata fuel ever fueled at the 7 eleven in salinas California off of the us 101 highway. I am making a second trip back to salinas and my company keeps sending me to the 7 eleven to fuel using my comdata card.

The attendant inside was clueless about my card or knew how to authorize fuel with it because if I use it at the pump It asked for a pin number

Use it as a debit card.

What's wrong with your compant, they have stock in 7-11?

Did you think to call your company and ask them the information about fueling?

I did and it is a fuel stop comdata gave them but it's a fuel stop I never been too and apparently the way the card worked via the fuel island pump my company was surprised it asked for a pin number

Comdata cards have two pin numbers associated with them.
One is for your personal payroll account, if you are paid via the Comdata card.
The other is a pin for company paid functions like cash advances. They can also bee used at smaller fueling points, like the Seven-Eleven.
At the larger fuel suppliers the pin is not needed because they have the computer systems to run the various fueling networks. I only had to use the pin system to buy fuel twice in 20 years. Both were small places in Canada.

Unfortunately we weren't given a second pin to use for fueling at places like seven eleven. I did however had a more helpful attendant this time when I fueled there

The larger truckstops have Trendar, so no pin numbers are needed. Trendar is the computer system that links Comdata, T Chek, and the other fuel cards to the truckstop. If you ask if the have Trendar, and get a blank look/stare, they may take comdata, but have to manually call Comdata to process the card. They will then usually take an imprint of the card on a credit transaction slip. It is a good policy to ask before fueling. Also, do not fuel at convience stores in Arizona unless the pump shows a sticker for 26 cents a gallon fuel tax. The fuel tax for diesel pickups/cars is 18 cents a gallon and the higher tax rate applies to any vehicle over 26,000 lbs and the fine for using the lower taxed fuel is spendy.
