This has worked out pretty good I think... I am pretty happy hauling groceries to stores. My average workday is 10-12 hours... this has turned out much better than I expected... 15 years ago you couldn't have got me near a JB truck... but I'm there today...eek. Anyway... they are still in need of drivers in Windsor Locks, Ct and Hatfield, Ma... I know in Windsor Locks they are offering a $2000 sign on... and $2000 to me if you use me as a reference... My alpha code is 'Nick16'... The equipment here is new... or was... the average truck now has about 28,000-33,000 miles... Internationals... but we have new Freightshakers coming in... I've managed to keep myself out of NYC for the most part... I've gone there about 10 times in 5 months... maybe... I am posting my pay for this past week's work which I got today... to silence those who want to attack me... 'Nick16' I'll answer any questions and can pull up any pay week settlement to prove consistency... I look around and I just don't see a better deal... and what's more steady than food... the economy can tank... but people have to eat... what better job security..? Check it out for yourself... I've been driving 19 years... so I'm not just blowing smoke...

this guy is so full of ####, i work there and theres no way you get all liftgates pay on every stop (13.25) just doesn't happen there, and said he doesn't have to go in the city ######## too, most of the stores are down in the city (keyfoods, food towns, pathmaths and a&p and small mom and pops store) i was there for 5 months and only 4 times i didn't have to go in the city, and by the way half the time they don't have electic jacks to get you load off,so they tell you to go down at 4 or 5 in the morning and wait for another driver to drop one off 4 hours later maybe if your lucky, and what they don't tell you is your start time is 2 0r 3 in the morning and don't get back until 4 or 5 in the afternoon, if you don't get stuck in any taffic on 95 or 91 or 84 or even rt 8, and don't think you get saturdays off, they say 5 days a week but that ######## too, they make you work it or if you don't you will get ny city loads on monday like the key food stores which no one wants because 99% are count load and you may wait for 2 or 3 hours for that and have 3 of those stops that day, and trucks are newer but most of them are damage and only do 63 mph listen i could go on for hours about this place, but sound like to me this is a upper managment person to me to get young drivers to go there, they can't hold on to drivers at all!!!

still the same old jb hunt just gave themself a new coat of paint to cover up all the same old ########

Liftgate pay is 26.50, reg. stop pay is 13.25.. If you look at my settlement... I don't do liftgates.

Alot of what you say is true... but it's like anything you go for... it's how you position yourself... the jb handbook says they can't make you do anything you're not comfortable with... I guess it's my experience that has taught me how to get what I want... this is my paycheck today for last week... it doesn't lie. Trust me...the only thing I manage... is to stay out of trouble.

I've been to the city the number of times you haven't.... You claim you have 30 yrs. experience... then you should've known how to position yourself. I work pm's... there's only a couple of key foods on pm's... and I let them know from jump that I'm not interested... I do mostly Stop & Shop... CT, MA and RI... sometimes I do A&P's and pathmarks such as tonight... all off 684 over by the Hudson... all docks no unloading. Monday I did a one stop D&H at a Waldbaums, Comack LI... Yes the trucks do 63mph... but most of the big carriers are in that ballpark.. and I still pass them... you get used to it. Absolutely Key foods suck... but that isn't the only work there... Good luck wherever you went... but no job's perfect... and I doubt you can match my paycheck... and no I don't get weekends off... as a matter of fact my willingness to work the weekends has gotten me my good gig.... but I have off tuesdays and wednesdays... if you look at the settlements I posted... there's only 5 runs each... You tell me any random week you want to see and I'll post it... I don't kiss anyone's butt... but when they said we really need you on a day off... I help them out... and it has paid off for me...

Give it to him raven. He obviously is a cry baby that thought he could dictate to a company what he wanted to do and get paid the best rate. I too have a hard time seeing me driving down the road in a jb truck but like you posted and I completely back you on is where am I going to make 1,200 a week gross and be home every night. I too work weekends by choice and I too have benefitted greatly from it. And the stereo in the prostar kicks butt by the way had some kid today jamming out to the metallica coming from the truck. Stay safe. My girlfriend is up in Windsor doin those mutli stop loads out of suffield making like 1,400 to 1,500 a week. last week she did 46 stops in 5 days.

I probably know/have seen her... that's where I can make the money... one of the runs from last week was 96 miles... just around Htfd area and I made over $200... in comparison I did a one stop drop and hook to NJ... 400 miles and made 210... still not shabby.. just a little more aggravation... our teucks have a decent sound system and I just plug in my phone... have rhapsody and my amazon cloud... and I just put on what suits the situation... heavy traffic in Htfd and Waterbury... I had on the soundtrack to the Sound of Music/ Julie Andrews.... makes me happy and relaxed... down and partway back the complete Bee Gees... and finished off with Donna Summer... "I Work Hard For The Money"... sort of.... Trust me... if I don't like something.. I let it be known... but it's the way and to whom I gracefully take to the dance. When I wake up I'll have a multi stop S&S to RI... it'll probably take me 10 hours from in and out of dispatch... and I'll make in the $270 ballpark.... I'll also have something similar on Sunday... In my opinion if you have 30 yrs. in the business... you should know how to dance... they won't force you on Keyfoods if you don't want it... especially if you're older... I predict they'll lose a bunch of drivers come winter... but not me.. because somebody still has to do what I do... and I'm going to make #### sure it's me.
