has anybody out there tried putting a 119in 379 short hood on a 378 SFA? i know there the same length and the cab sits higher on the 378 and all the differences of them. i just wanted to see if anyone's tried it and what modifications were done to the 379 hood "if any". TIA

..my understanding that 378 is maybe 4-5 inches shorter , grill is different due to slope on the hood . Other guys will probably correct me if I'm wrong

If the cab is higher, I’m not sure it’s gonna fit in relation to the front hinges.

What year? We had 378's and short hood 379's and no difference in cab height.

I have a 1998. I guess I've never measured the cab height on mine, but from the info I've found on internet 378's are higher.
And PAVROM the grills are the same as 379 short hoods. I bought a 379 short hood bug screen and it fit just fine...

Hard to find the differences online. So many don't understand the 379 or 379EXHD, so many think a 378 is set back axle but don't realize that not all are. My understanding from researching is the 378 forward axle and 379 hoods should be about the same. Whether they are interchangeable I have no idea, therefore I am no help. Sorry lol.

Changing for what benefit? 378 is a better looking truck.

I think its mostly done to get rid of the slope on the hood.

RLK services out of Georgia has what they call the little big hood. I would get ahold of them and see if their hood would fit.

RLK just sells the skins, and 378's have a one piece fiberglass hood. otherwise i would love to have a little big hood. i might just buy a jones performance hood, but who wouldnt want a aluminum hood!

P.S. my hood was damaged from a deer hit
