Is there a fuel mileage difference between an E model and the C15? I've driven both but never had to worry about fuel, ran for a farmer. Liked the way the e model pulled better tho...

I'd almost say a E-model with a 40 pin ECM with a early low nox file would edge out a 70 pin ECM C15

So a 5ek,6ts,or 1lw all with a early low nox flash would be the best. The 70 pin ECM on 2ws or 6nz don't take that file, so probley not quite as good, but still not bad.
Overall power would be better on the early Es better also.

I wouldn't have an Acert from what I've seen and heard about them. Maybe I'm wrong tho

The later c15 like mbn and acert is pointless against 3406E. Best c15s are 6nz.

As far as reliability of hard parts the Acert will always have the upper hand, the bottom end is built much better than the older engines and the single piece steel pistons are much less likely to score than the two piece setup of the E model and earlier C15.

    Cetane+ Thanks this.

NO, thats not the problem at all. Its ALL in the program that hurts acert owners.

Turbos are turbos and that is that, the manifold turbo is similar to what is used on the C12 and the big turbo is used with standard housings on many of cats industrial C15s and the euro C18 truck engine.
