Truck smokes when you start it up goes almost away when it gets hot but at idle you can see it. When driver pulls away and gets on it there isnt any smoke You can smell the diesel when by the truck
Started about 1 year ago I knew Id over haul it so I let it be
This truck had a diesel heater on the frame which I just bypassed (but never added water) it was shut off.
Engine was over hauled problem still there
Injectors just replaced, this did help some its not as bad.
Burns no oil
Drinks no water same as the day we rebuilt it.
I removed the turbo exhaust side and you can see its diesel coating in the pipe.
It has a new transfer pump new lines all but the line from the first filter on the frame to tank (replacing that this week)
I use the same tool to adjust injectors as I do with another 3406E I have no problems there.
My turbo spools up good the fins spin but not as easy as some of the others. (smokes at idle when turbo isnt working)
New cam sensor
No codes.
Truck idles smooth!
When you hit the pedel it hesitates (like mixture isnt correct) but when you idle at 1500 its smooth.
ECM has not been looked at.
Could the pump picking up air cause this? ECM gone out of whack? Could turbo cause over fueling
I was going to hool up a clear hose this week to check the return for air.
Truck is a 97 pete 379 turbo is a OR-7205
3406E over fueling smoke out stacks

Can you smell the fuel all the time? Somethin causing low compression? Overhead, jakes, etc

I know guys who went through multiple injectors before they put together a good set. And also refuse to change them during a rebuild if they work good still..
