Hello all, hope ya’ll are having a wonderful day.

Anywho water started mixing with oil recently most likely liners are on their way out, wanting to inframe it myself but don’t have a shop to do so. I’m lookin to get some info on trusted reliable caterpillar kit sites. Lookin around and see variety of sites with different prices, wanting to know if anyone that overhauled/inframe their motors what specific source u went with cause I’m not tryin to get duped from these random online sites. Thank you

Plenty of folks use an ez up to keep the rain out and do a rebuild in the front yard. As long as you can find somebody mobile to cut the block for ya ...

I would go with a cat kit. I have used aftermarket. Now go with cat. Seems to do best for longevity.

If you do want aftermarket. Robert @ apc castings in vancouver can hook you up with a head, and is a dealer for a few aftermarket companies. I know they used to do PAI. Best customer service I've ever experienced.

A friend of mine runs StoneEquipmentParts.com and is an aftermarket parts dealer. They're real.

Large items like rebuild kits are almost always drop shipped from the manufacturer. Price shop whoever gives you the best deal and customer service. Its best to call and talk to people to get the best price.

If you do not already have an account with your local truck dealer (pete, kw, freightliner)... go set one up. Truck dealers can give the best price on OEM cat parts (Caterpillar themselves will only sell at retail) and your local truck dealer will probably also carry aftermarket parts. Its nice to have a contact where you can walk in and hash out things.

My last bit of pontification. Go with a vibratech dampner instead of a cat oem when you do your rebuild. If you are going to replace your oil cooler, I would also use aftermarket. OEM gets my vote for everything else. STSdiesel tends to have the best price on dampners
