I'm fully aware of the grey area of this combo but....is this an automatic no-no on inspection or DOT?

I already have the rims and tires and we all know how expensive new tires are.

Rim wont be rated for the load capacity of the 315 and it will also cause the tire to wear the centers badly. I know its only 3/4" narrower then the recommended rim with but Id be more worried about the weight rating.

Oddball build, front axle is 11,400 lbs and tanks are further back then normal. 11R22.5 with H rating would suffice. Weight isn't an issue.

Some 315 are rated for 8.25rims. Usually weight capacity is cut down to 7200lbs per tire

Unless you tell them or are overweight on the front axle l dont think they would ever even notice it. I've never had a mechanic or a mto/dot even look at the weight rating of a rim. Like roberts said you might have some irregular wear from it but experimenting with tire pressure might help out a bit. Good luck.
