What the hell would you do that for? lol And did you say 3 men?
It's nice to have company on the road but team driving... I don't know how people do it. Resting/Sleeping in a moving truck is difficult. When you're tired enough it's really not too hard to fall asleep, but it's a different kind of sleep. You never wake up fully rested. It's like someone beat you with a sack of potatoes.
Unfortunately I don't know the answer to your question, sorry. Just thought I would chime in. -
I also don't see how you can "legally" run a 3 man team. Not supposed to be in the top bunk while truck is in moving. Time in the passenger seat is supposed to be "On-duty/Not Driving". I really think you'd be opening up a can of worms with DOT and your logs. (And yes I know, many out there spend time in the RS and log "Sleeper").
Not sure how anyone would really benefit anyway. With being able to drive ~13 hours each within a 24 hour day, a team would be able to drive ~26 hours which blows through the day.
I'd have to see some very convincing arguments to even consider this as an option.mcdiddy1 Thanks this. -
Sorry guys three man team doesn't mean they all ride in the truck at the same time. Three man teams are set up so that one guy has hometime while the other two drive. This keeps the truck constantly moving and allows for better hometime. It's usually done on dedicated routes. While the one driver is at home he also has the option to do local work for extra cash until the truck gets back to the terminal. I did it for awhile and it actually works out pretty good. Plus you don't get sick of driving with the same person all the time.
The Challenger, mcdiddy1 and WileyHunter Thank this. -
Correct, 2 on the truck and one at home, however, some companies do 3 man training with ALL 3 on the truck at once, trainer and 2 students. Can you say "cozy"?
mcdiddy1 Thanks this. -
I ain't creative enough to have thought that one through.

3 men 1 truck... sounds like some vulgar website I never want to see. lol
Thanks for the explanation. I'm a new driver so there's lots of things I don't know about how things work. However, I do know that I do NOT want to team. Unless it's with Lisa Kelly. I'll team with her any day of the week. -
its crst that does it, i found it last night. the idea can sound dirty i guess. maybe ill go with 2 women and me
-
they have the homerun program, which is three separate 2-man teams that rotate, but i've never heard of three single dudes doing it. nor do i ever want to think about three single dudes doing it ever again.

CRST 20/10 program is a 3 man team, but only two are in a truck at the same time. Person A is in the truck for 20 days, Person B is in that truck for 10 days, Person C is home for 10 days. Then Person A takes his 10 days off and Person B starts the 2nd ten days, Person C start their first 10 days. So on and on.
Problem is the mileage is still paid to the truck in those 30 days. If you get two team members that don't pull their weight you lose.. During those 10 days your off you have no control over the other two members pulling their weight.
i.e. your drive 3000 miles and your team mate drive 3000 together you each get paid for 2000 miles.. I'll drive solo thanks..
