I did a search and found nothing about this unless i missed it. I need more chains and I'm going to 3/8" chains. Whats the best length to have them?

12 hours and no answer. Maybe I put this in the wrong area.

I take it you're talking about chains for flatbedding.
I like using 5/16's over 3/8's they're so much lighter & as long as they're grade 70 & it's stamped every so often on the links. I usually got 25' length's on the chain because they sold them that length & that was long enough to take care of about anything I hauled.
Guess it would depend on what you expect to haul. -
The 5/16'' are just to heavy for light loads. For whatever I can find that pays good.

5/16's is far lighter to handle then the 3/8's that you're referencing buying.
Or am I missing something? -

If you're hauling heavy equipment I would suggest going bigger. For machinery with wheels and rubber tires I used 1/2 chain due to the bouncing that occurs with rubber tires.

As a low-bedder I have 4 14' 3/8" and then 2 additional 3/8" at 16' long.

Mine are 20 feet long, they work for most loads unless you haul alot of tall stuff. If you need extra length just once in a while make up some shorter 2-3 foot pieces with just one hook, they also work good for excavators and other machines with tracks you can hook a binder to
