Wondering If a 3.42 gear ratio is good enough for flatbed at 80k? Motor would be a DD15 505 hp and 13 speed.
3.42 gear ratio

What year is the truck and what size tires?
The thirteen speed gives you some flexibility. -
I’m looking at 2015 Cascadias. What size tires would they need to be? Having trouble finding one with 3.55 gear ratio.

That is exactly what my last truck was. Had no problems with that set up. Pulled fine, reasonably good fuel economy.
Dadetrucking305 Thanks this. -
Mines a 3.58.
3.58 or 3.55 is just different manufacturers.
Look for an old Gordon truck. The light blue ones.

RPM vs MPH.
So many variables, the rear end is only part of the picture.
FYI ... My current truck is 2.64 with overdrive and i run gross frequently... I'm sure you'll be fine.cke and Dave_in_AZ Thank this. -
Depends where you plan on running too.
If you're gonna be in the Midwest and more on the flat, the 3.42 or 3.36 or 3.23 is a good choice.cke, Dadetrucking305 and brysol01 Thank this. -
The drivetrain should be good. A mid roof would be better. What wheelbase are you looking at? I wouldn’t go really short on the web. BTW, 244wb looks good on an aero hood.
