Just purchased a new truck haven't even gotten to drive it yet. The air dryer is making a spitting/spewing noise at times and WABCO is saying it is supposed to do this now. Has anyone else with the 2022 models had this same issue? It does not make this noise all the time. From mechanics we have asked they have said no it's not supposed to make this noise and it could possibly damage the air compressor.

Has anyone else experienced this issue and if so what did you find out about it?

I've had experience with this, and it's normal. It's the regeneration cycle of the dryer. It should purge, then you'll hear air leaking. It should be more than 10 seconds, but less than 30. If its a rapid spitting noise, check out this bulletin. I've attached the manual for Wabco System Saver air dryers also. Not sure what model you have, but it may help.

Thank you for replying. Do you know how long it should do that cycle? This is a brand new truck 2022 only had 8 miles on it. It did it for like 30-40 min nonstop. We took it back to Freightliner that we bought it at and they were researching why it was doing it. They are trying to tell us it’s ok and come get it. We are just afraid it’s not right that it shouldn’t do it for that long. How often should this occur?

The cycle should be from 10 to 30 seconds. If it's doing it for 30 or 40 minutes straight, then that's a problem. Do you know the model of air dryer or can you post a pic? I don't have access to VINS my fleet doesn't own, otherwise I would look it up for you. It sounds like the purge valve or the outlet check valve is hanging up, or an issue with the governor/signal line/unloader.
