Is there a way to defeat the idle shutdown in the new T680s? I think anything between 40-70 degrees I can't get it to idle more than 30 minutes. Hand warmers over the OAT sensor beneath the driver's mirror does nothing. Any help is much appreciated.

Does it have the Kenworth Idle Management System (KIMS)?

If so, no need to idle.

On mine....release truck break / leave trailer break on...or turn cruise on / and bump up speed

Geez, you don’t need to idle between 40-70 degrees. Get a blanket.
I don’t idle until temperature gets below -05. A good sleeping bag does wonders.
Some of the modern trucks the settings can’t even be changed by the dealers. The OEM manufacturers have to send a software update to keep in compliance with EPA.

So with your logic ...does this also mean...you use a sleeping bag at home...in the bedroom...so you don't use the heat or air conditioner

I see from your previous posts that you're a company driver. Your company had the truck programmed to do this so you can't idle for long periods. Doesn't the truck have the battery powered bunk heater and AC? If not, maybe this job isn't for you.

EPA has no such rule. Some states do but not the EPA...
