    2020 Cascadia Possible Harness issue?

    Sup fellow truckers!

I’ve got a 2020 Freightshaker Cascadia with a DD15 and DT12. Yesterday while rolling down the highway my dash lit up with just about every light (ACC, MIL, Check Eng, ABS, Starter Blocked Shift to Neutral warning) and the RPM gauges were bouncing up and down erratically, and the engine power was lost. I pulled to the shoulder, cycled the ignition a few times and was able to get rolling. Happened again briefly 50 miles down the road but wasn’t as bad and didn’t require me to pull over this time.

Finally today, I started my truck, let it idle for about 5 minutes, and then it went crazy like the first time with all the lights and started idling erratically and sounded like it was going to shut off. I turned the truck off, and then it just wouldn’t start. Starter Blocked - Shift to Neutral. Even got a weird Transmission Locked in gear pop-up.

After playing with the shifter mode button I was able to get it to register it was in neutral and allow me to start it.

I immediately went to the dealer down the road and left the truck running. As the service advisor walks out to take my info it did it again (perfect timing right?). He turned to truck off and got checked it in to the shop.

Fast forward to now, the dealer got back to me after initial diag and this was their response:

“So, we have verified multiple PT Can Faults active and coming and going at idle. We need to remove and inspect the Engine Commodity harness and PT Can harness for Circuit damage. Attached is an estimate to do this, now due to the time required this will have to go over to Our Main Shop (same building Just back side) they are currently about 2 weeks out from stating any new Major repairs. So, it would probably be 8/4 before it gets back into shop to start inspecting it. Please review and let us know if we can proceed. If we can back to this sooner, we certainly will. Thanks”

In the estimate they want $3600 to track down and repair the damaged section of harness.

I found two people on here who had the exact same symptoms with their trucks, and it did wind up being a chaffed harness, yet their bills were $600-$1000

Does $3600 sound reasonable? (Didn’t upload all the small additional estimates but they all total up to $3600)

    Any advice would be appreciate!

*attached some fault codes I was able to pull the morning I dropped it at the dealer.

Another driver on here had a Pete with some wiring issues and the dealer wanted 10k to replace 2 harnesses. I suggested an electrical specialty shop and they took care of the issues for about 1k. Don't know what their labor rate is but at $125 an hour that is 28 hours. At $150 per hour that is 23 hours. (3,500 /125). Even taking $2,400 at $150 per hour is 16 hours labor. That is a lot of labor. I would think the 2 week wait alone would be unacceptable.

Get it to a shop and have them check harness where it is zip tied to metal bracket just above air compressor area. Might be suprised at what you find.

Another poster had a somewhat similar issues his truck and was determined to be problems with his powertrain CAN so check it out here Please help! 2020 cascadia. Like Qualitytruck said that bracket by air compressor is a common area of chaffing. There is a service bulletin 54-330 out on it.
In last month I ran into truck that had chaffing out the vertical section of the harness at the bracket. Within several inches above where the harness tee's and goes horizontal.
