2018 Western Star 4800SF No Guages Work

    Hello All,
    Company got new Dump Trucks. 2018 WS 4800SF.
    First few days truck was running great, I got out to take a leak. When i got back in no guages were working. With DEF And check engine light that has exclamation mark in center were illuminated. Truck feels like its ok. Powers not limited. But nothing on dash works.

    It has J1939 data link gauges. They are all daisy chained one after the other. I believe it goes to the speedometer and tachometer first, then to the rest of the gauges. Either a wire is broken or just a connector wasn't inserted all the way and fell out.
    Just remove the panel that the speedo and tach are on and have a look.

    Plugging in a cable that has fallen out won't void your warranty. But it may save you sitting for a day or two waiting your turn at the dealer.
