Is the pinout on the 2017 Western Star the same as 2017 Freightliner? If so, does it also have a 2-pin J1939 250k plug located nearby?
2017 Western Star what diagnostic port?

Jabo Johnson Thanks this.

I've heard there is an optional 9-pin Type 1 plug (Black) that if ordered on the build sheet, would be located in the dash behind the radio panel, is that the one you're referring? or is the 2-pin behind the 9-pin optional as well? I apologize for my ignorance, I haven't torn into but a couple of these so far & my local dealer isn't proving to be much help.

They are all jam-nut mounted now, even before they went to the green obd2 connector.

where can I buy the new D flange version 9 pin 500k adapter for my Bosch scanner

Does anyone own a library of specific year, make, model to protocol/pinout and flange/nut?

I know this thread is few years old but thank you Ridgeline for mentioning that the car diagnostic equipment wont work on the trucks even if we get an adapter. My brother (18 years on the road, over 2,000,000,000 miles) passed away this September and I need to sell his truck. As we've been trying to keep his truck alive for the last 3 months I noticed that the engine light is on. Stricken by his sudden passing (he passed away behind the wheel while waiting to be loaded) neither me nor my husband can remember if this light was on when we picked up his truck or it turned on after batteries died. One can imagine how insecure we feel as any dealer doing an appraisal on his well taken care of truck can easily low-ball us simply because the light is on.
Anyhow, just wanted to tell you when you feel like saying something say it. There is someone out there that might need to hear it even some years later.
All the best and God Bless.
